Who we are
Best Video Data ("we", "us") runs a program that pays people and businesses to record first-person video of real work, which we prepare and license to companies that train robots and AI systems. You can reach us at hello@bestvideodata.com.
What we collect
- What you type into our forms: your name, phone, email, whether you're signing up as a worker or a business, the type of work you do, crew size, employer or business name, and city.
- Account and agreement details if you join: the name you sign with, the time you signed and the version of each agreement.
- Video and audio you record for the program, and the task and time it belongs to.
- Payment details needed to pay you, handled by our payment provider. We don't store full bank or card numbers on our own systems.
- Basic technical data: your browser type, the page you came from, ad campaign tags in the link you clicked, and a scrambled form of your IP address we use to block spam.
How we use it
- To call, text or email you about the program and see whether it's a fit.
- To run the program: send camera kits, match you to tasks, review footage and pay you.
- To prepare footage for buyers, including blurring faces of people who haven't agreed, license plates, screens and paperwork.
- To keep the site safe, stop spam and fraud, and meet our legal duties.
- To see which ads and pages bring in applications, so we spend less on ads that don't work.
Calls and texts
When you send a form, you agree that we may call or text you about the program at the number you gave. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or tell us on a call. Agreeing is not a condition of joining.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run the site and program, such as hosting, database, email, phone and payment companies. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Buyers of footage. They receive prepared video and task details, not your name, phone or email.
- Advertising partners, if we add ad measurement tools later. We'll update this policy before we do.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect people's safety or our rights.
- A company that buys or merges with us, under the same promises as this policy.
We do not sell your contact details.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask us to stop contacting you. California residents may have extra rights under California law, including to know, delete and correct personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted ads, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. Email hello@bestvideodata.com and we'll answer within 45 days. We may need to confirm it's you first.
How long we keep it
We keep application details for up to two years after we last hear from you, account and agreement records for as long as the law requires, and footage for as long as our agreements with you and buyers allow.
Keeping it safe
We use access controls and encryption in transit, and limit who can see your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away if you think something is wrong.
Children
The program is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date, and tell members by email when the change matters.
